1. Dying with the Shahada (Testimony of Faith) on the lips: The Prophet (ﷺ) said that whoever’s last words are “La ilaha illallah” will enter Paradise.
2. Dying on the day or night of Jumu’ah (Friday): The Prophet (ﷺ) mentioned that a Muslim who dies on Friday will be protected from the trial of the grave.
3. Dying while performing a righteous deed, like in sujood (prostration), while fasting, giving charity, reading the Quran, going for Hajj or Umrah.
4. Dying with sweat on the forehead: A sign mentioned by the Prophet (ﷺ) as one of the signs of a blessed end for a believer.
5. Martyrdom (Shahada) in all its forms: From defending one’s life, family, and faith to dying due to certain illnesses, like a plague or stomach disease.
6. Dying as a pregnant woman or in childbirth: The Prophet (ﷺ) promised that a woman who dies in childbirth is granted martyrdom, and her child will lead her to Jannah by her umbilical cord.
These signs are derived from authentic hadiths and reveal the ultimate state a Muslim should strive for — to die in a state pleasing to Allah (SWT). Each of these indicators reflects a life lived with Iman (faith), Taqwa (consciousness of Allah), and good deeds (Amal as-Salih).
