The Prophet’s Ijtihad and the Flexibility of Shari’ah

The prophet’s Ijtihad and the flexibility of shari’ah.

There is no denying that some important aspects of the life of the Allah’s Messenger SAW have gone out of the heads of many Muslims. These aspects are not addressed by these people that they would involves in discussing doubtful issues, although the Prophet’s life and his Sunnah (traditions) are available to everyone till the Day of Judgement. From the Prophet’s deeds and speechthe entire mankind can draw inspiration enabling them to lead a virtuous and perfect life.

The aspects of his behaviour and conduct, deeds, words, and reasoning pertaining to the private and public life of his nation, as well as the rules making and places. And, to be eternal, this message has to meet all people’s requirements; and the relevant rules and injunctions are presented by Allah’s Book, the Quran, and elucidated by the deeds and the wisdom of the Prophet. Allah says: “And We have sent down unto thee (also) the Message that thou mayest explain clearly to men what is sent for them and that they may give thought.”

The Ijtihad, principle of reasoning, by various scholars and various religions, should cast light on the rules and decisions made by the Prophet.
